We had no issues the entire time we were there. I have four kids ranging in ages from 8 to 16. If you know the rules before renting, how can you complain about them? None of them seemed like issues to us. We read the rules & fees carefully before renting. Ours may have cost a little bit more, but it was newly renovated, right on the canal in a grand location, and had everything our family needed. We looked at the pictures, descriptions, and the Venture Out map carefully in choosing our rental. Some of the properties are older than others and they vary in type and quality. Note that this is mostly a retirement community with lots of winter birds flocking down here during the winter and leaving during the summer. Some of the cheaper ones to rent did not look so nice. We looked at TONS of properties, with VRBO and Water Front Realty. We loved our stay at Venture Out on Cudjoe Key! We stayed a week in late May 2021 in #367. I own my unit after having rented for many years. It is not pet friendly (in that pets cannot be walked inside the property). There is a pool, tennis courts, pickeball courts, picnic areas, boat launch, store, petrol station, hot tub, recreation hall and strict security. Guests who complain about the rental rates or fees costs should find alternative accommodation. They are tasked with enforcing the rules. The security staff has a very difficult task. There is NO guarantee overflow parking will be available. There is overflow parking that might be available, where guests can park boat trailers or extra vehicles at extra cost. Only one vehicle is permitted to park on each property and it must fit on the paved driveway. There is an administrative fee for guests of approx $107. To my knowlege they do not engage in timeshare sales. Some owners rent out their units using Waterfront Keys Realty to manage their rental Waterfront Keys is located inside the park. Some owners rent out their units on their own. Every manufactured home unit and RV lot is individually owned. Venture Out IS a gated condominium complex. Venture Out is NOT a timeshare development. First and foremost, Venture Out is NOT a resort! Can tripadvisor please correct the heading. Hi, I'd like to comment on the reviews left for "Venture Out" in Cudjoe Key, FL. READ RULES & REGULATIONS PRIOR TO BOOKING!!! We will find other accommodations in the future. There are hundreds of beautiful places to rent in the Keys. This was our fourth two week trip to the Keys since 2014. After speaking with the crew supervisor they postponed the work until Tuesday which was the day we departed. The next door neighbor ran a power washer all day Sunday and Monday a maintenance crew began running a concrete power saw and had hauled in a back hoe to repair a section of dock which had sunk on the other side of our unit. There were serious noise problems no fault of the owners. It was left in the same condition it was in when we arrived. It was nice and what you should expect for the cost. Instead of being treated by Venture Out in a courteous and professional manor to our inquiry I was subjected to a brutal flurry of the rules, regulations, notice of the additional charge upon arrival which was not mentioned on the VRBO site and to my astonishment told that we would be watched the whole time we stayed at our rented unit. Let me say that we are veterans in renting vacation properties and also have had a vacation property listed with VRBO in conjunction with a real estate agency for over a decade until we recently sold it earlier this year. Prior to our arrival I called Venture Out to ask what the procedure was to contact the owners for the usual questions in regards to what was supplied at the rental unit, what we would need to bring with us and to get some recommendations about fishing at the unit, local fishing charters and restaurants.
